The position
At Hive, we're building the leading operations platform for independent commerce. As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join us.
As a Product Designer in our Warehouse Management System team, you’ll primarily create meaningful solutions for our fulfillment centers across Europe. They are key in helping Hive achieve an important goal: enabling hundreds of independent merchants to ship millions of parcels per year and keep their customers happy. You’ll deep dive into the interconnected nature of logistics, exploring how fulfillment center processes, merchants, and end customers interact.
In this position, you’ll find ways to make the complex feel simple and see the direct impact of your design choices. You’ll build empathy for the processes and challenges our fulfillment center workers face, ensuring they have a product that puts them first, pays attention to the small details, and is easy to use.
What you’ll do:
Solve meaningful and complex design challenges for our Warehouse Management System (WMS) by thinking holistically about intuitive user experiences, simplifying complexity, and ensuring ease of use.
Lead projects end-to-end, from developing design hypotheses and ideating through early concepts and prototypes to delivering scalable, high-quality solutions.
Collaborate closely with peers in Product and Engineering to maintain high quality and ship solutions that address real problems for merchants and other audiences.
Utilize a systems-thinking approach to navigate complex design challenges, considering future milestones for scalability while delivering MVPs that drive rapid learning and improvement.
Develop a deep understanding of our end-to-end experiences by creating research plans and conducting research with users and colleagues, building empathy for their needs, and delivering experiences that align their goals with business objectives.
Champion user needs and design best practices, contributing to the evolution of our product by identifying opportunities to enhance the user experience and, when relevant, leading your own design initiatives.
Engage actively in the design team by providing constructive feedback during design reviews and enriching our supportive and inclusive design culture.
Maintain and improve the design system by ensuring the reusability of components and introducing thoughtful design patterns as needed.
Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand and address their goals and challenges.
